Our day had a fairly mellow start, but of course the first activity was lunch! Went to a local noodle shop in
Tomoko's neighborhood. Enjoyed some delightful fried eel with chili and eggplant over rice. Super succulent...
We spent the afternoon trolloping through some of
Tomoko's favorite shopping districts. Relaxing and fun. We stopped at a place called the Rude Boy Cafe for afternoon beers and snacks, it had a nice reggae mixed with
cantina vibe.

Seemed like a good night for dinner at home - so I tried to recreate a pasta dish that
Tomoko has been fantasizing about for the last 8 1/2 years!
Tomoko played sous chef, Tom was the wine steward and Katie was clean-up wizard...really quite a perfect evening of friends, food and fun.

For some reason, we got into a discussion on
natto - which Katie became quite curious about.
Tomoko pulled some out of the fridge, stirred it into a
mucilaginous concoction, and gave it a try - verdict: not bad! tastes like coffee......????
I'm glad you got to a noodle shop. Dinner looks interesting.
