We actually arrived in Tokyo on Tom and Tomoko's 5 year wedding anniversary! The next day they hosted a party in Yokohama, where Tomoko and Keiko grew up, for their close friends and family. The party was at a very groovy converted warehouse, on the balcony of a jazz club. Absolutely amazing view of Yokohama bay, and a lovely ambience for the party.

We managed to fill the Donkey with lots of Japanese candies - treats for the party guests! Tom and Tomoko were absolutely thrilled with the suprise! Katie and I were just glad that we didn't arouse too much suspiscion at the airport...

View from the balcony by day...

View by night....so pretty! Yokohama is celebrating 150 years of the port being open, so there were many festivities going on around the bay. There was a wild performance of classical music accompanied by giant mechanical spiders shooting water from cranes. Hard to describe...
Katie, Mrs Sugiyama and the donkey

Tomoko couldn't bear to smash the donkey, she instantly fell in love with it! So we gave it a bit of abdominal surgery and removed the candy by hand...

The happy couple!
WOW! I would like to have seen the custom agent's face when he saw the donkey.
